Ballgown Ellie

I thought that I would start the new year with a digital stamp from an artist that I have not purchased from before…. The Paper Nest Dolls. Boy are there some cute images here http://www.papernestdolls.com.

I started by colouring with my favourite Copic skin combo: E000, E00, E21, E11 and E04.

I decided to go for a purple/orange/yellow hair blend here for something different. I used BV08, V05, YR14, Y13 and a touch of YR61.

With all of that crazy hair I chose to do the dress in nice contemporary pinks and purples. Purple: T7, T5, V06, V04, RV63. Pinks: T5, RV63, RV55, RV63. I love adding some shimmer and texture to clothing so I used my Uni Posca white paint pen to add some dots.

The background paper for this card was actually a water colour experiment that went all wrong (a completely different project). It came in handy for this card though as it had the right orange, pink and purple tones plus a touch of green for contrast. I hand drew the heart shapes on the card as I didn’t want them to be too ‘perfect’. Sentiment and hearts were distressed and edged with Tim Holtz distress ink in ‘Wild Honey’.

A touch of pearl strand, loose pearls and tulle and the card was done!

I’d love to hear what you think of this one.
